Why are “an” and “en” pronounced the same? Pourquoi « an » et « en » ont-ils la même prononciation ?
When I was a young boy I was taught that en and an were pronounced the same despite being spelled differently.
For instance in
pendant mon enfance > /pɑ̃.dɑ̃ mɔ̃n‿ɑ̃.fɑ̃s/
