StackOverflow will provide me with much-needed reference and expertise and I hope to learn from it not only by asking questions, but also by trying to find answers to other's questions where I can.

How many times the letter 'f' is used in French, in order to suppress it? Affabulations... |

Traduire « overkill » Parfois, c'est de l'overkill de chercher une bonne traduction quand le mot anglais est compris de tous. |

What is the difference between 'penser' and 'croire' As such, I'd tend to say that croire is to express your own belief, while penser is usually not about your opinion, but about something you believe may be true. So whether you feel it's personnal or not is going to help you decide which verb to use. If you express an opinion, croire makes more sense (Je crois que tu manges trop); if you want to speak about a fact but show that you're not certain about it, use penser (Je pense qu'il est 4 heures). But yes, most of the time both are quite valid, the only exception I can think of is that you won't say Je pense en Dieu. |

Looking for a French translation for “ornament” And it's not limited to Christmas either. Note the singular is décoration; ornement also exists but isn't used much nowadays and mostly for immobile stuff (statues in a park, for example). |

Is Camille a male or female name? J'étais surtout surpris d'apprendre que Dorothée pouvait être utilisé pour un garçon, mais je dois dire que Philippe ne me pose pas de problème. |
