comment Is there a foundational writer or body of writing to the French language?
@Catomic, b. Molière is an important author among others. I don't think choosing Molière over Rabelais, Racine or others in that expression has any meaning.

Even if we nickname French la langue de Molière, I don't think Molière was more foundational for French than a long list of authors; we can't say he shaped French like Shakespeare shaped English or Dante Italian.

comment What phrase is omitted before “Ce qui”?
Ce refers to the whole sentence and can't refer the to the powers themselves (the demonstrative pronoun to use if you want to do so is ceux-ci), but it could refers to the result understood as être doté de grands pouvoirs. Here the difference is minor but in other contexts it could lead to misunderstandings.

comment “Tutoyer” as a mark of sincerity?
"not being able to duplicate the vous vs. tu", I'd have tried to switch from using the family name to using the first name.

comment Why are mutiple kissES exchanged (at least one on each cheek) when “faisant LA bise”?
@Tia27, it seems to me that non language related culture questions have been closed as well.

comment Est-ce que les enfants se sont lavé(es) les mains ?
Or when there is no COD is the "se" treated as a preceding COD taking the gender/number of the subject? that's a way to see it. Elle se sont lavées but elles se sont lavé les mains. The rules are quite arbitrary (search in @Laure's answers, IIRC she has a link to a document using simpler alternate rules)

comment “Alors qu'il s'était allongé” or “alors qu'il s'était allongeait”?
@noamb, compound tenses have always the participe passé as last components.
