What movies or TV series can I use to improve my French? I'm not sure I'd agree with this. Subtitles make me lazy. |

Latin phrases - used in French too? @Raphink - thanks for the link, my dictionary didn't seem to have anything useful to say on Latin that I could see. |

What movies or TV series can I use to improve my French? +1, Tintin and Astérix would get my vote from the list. I loved them as a kid and they're good interesting French to watch now as a learner. |

Is it necessary to use guillemets when quoting in French, or may one use English-style doublequotes? @Stéphane - just curious, I almost asked a question about how universal guillemets are and how much people deviate from l'Académie view within France. |

Is it necessary to use guillemets when quoting in French, or may one use English-style doublequotes? Is this one of these things that varies worldwide too, or is it universal. (E.g. Quebec?) |

Connaître and savoir The line between topic and fact seemed quite hazy - I was wondering if someone else had some good advice that might help it stick. |
