comment Is 'ouïr' used at all anymore?
Il y a, il me semble, une différence entre j'ai ouï dire et j'ai entendu dire. Le second laisse supposer qu'il n'y a pas d'intermédiaire, alors qu'on a ouï dire ce que d'autres ont eux-mêmes entendu dire. Mais, hors effets stylistiques, c'est sûrement l'un des rares cas où l'on peut trouver une utilité à ce verbe.

comment “This side up” sign in French
I would say “Ce côté vers le haut” is a very good wording. I can't think of something better.

comment Où est le « h aspiré » dans « anse » ?
Originaire de Toulouse je fais en effet cette distinction entre « les anses » et « l'aisance ». J'ai passé une dizaine d'années à Lyon et à Paris et je n'ai pourtant jamais remarqué que certains ne la faisaient pas.

Micro corrections typographiques, que je sache, la pontuation externe ne rentre jamais a l'interieur des guilles en francais, ou alors je veux bien savoir de quelle variante il s'agit?

comment Is there any general rule to determine the gender of a noun based on its spelling?
Ok I did a quick estimate using nouns extracted from a text, the proportion seems closer to 80%. (I didn't count words which admit both genders).

@mouviciel: It's a useful rule when you speak and you don't know the gender of a word, it's a good guess. As I said, it's just a rule of thumbs. But maybe you disagree with the 90% proportion? If you know a better estimation, please share it.
