I wrote professionally in both English and French throughout my 26-year career in advertising, corporate and financial PR, and corporate affairs. I also wrote classical music and arts criticism for the Wall Street Journal and a number of other publications for several years. I hold a BA in English from Cornell and an MA in French from Yale.

I was fortunate to have received a very thorough education in grammar, including diagramming of sentences, during my K-12 years. I also took several years of Latin. This all helped me to become bilingual in French quickly and to attain senior executive positions at French companies during the 14 years my husband and I lived in Paris. I also have a degree of fluency in a couple of other Romance languages.

Whatever the language in question, I am a stickler for grammar and proper usage. I am very impressed with this site and delighted to have discovered it.
